
CASE to Host 2002 Mid-States Regional Convention by Patrick C. Carr, CASE President - CASE members Patrick Carr, David Cater and Michael Peterson attended the 2001 Mid States Regional
Convention in Conway, Arkansas sponsored by the Central Arkansas Astronomical Society and came away with an opportunity to host next year's convention. CASE has agreed to host the 2002 convention in Siloam Springs, Arkansas on the campus of John Brown University. The new Walker Student Center will be the location for the convention speakers, meals and the facilities for housing and the swap meet. CASE was nominated by the MSRAL's voting membership at the morning business meeting and was voted on to host the convention. Club President Patrick Carr receives the banner from 2001 MSRAL Chairperson Chris Lasley in the photo at the right. Patrick will serve as the Chairperson of the convention and the MSRAL for the next year. CASE's Observing Club Chairperson, David Cater, will serve as the convention and region's Vice-Chairperson for the next year.

CASE. "We're a pretty small club, but we've got a lot of energy and ambition to make this a great event!"
- The 2002 Mid-States Regional Convention will be held June 7-9, 2002 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas on the campus of John Brown University. The club's observing site at New Life Ranch will be open for evening observing sessions at the convention. More information will be available later this year.
